Paint is where a go kart stops being a replica and becomes yours. It's also where a peaceful family dinner turns into a heated debate about Carrera Redline versus Monaco Gold. This guide settles it: the two ways to choose a finish, how each paint behaves indoors and out, and the pairings that make a build look finished.
Two roads to the perfect finish
Road one: pick a factory trim (a standard order)
Every model has its own ready trims on its product page:
• Porsche 911: collector colours and #23 racing liveries
• Porsche 964: stripes and race liveries
• Ferrari F40: classic and pastel shades
• Nissan Skyline GT-R: street liveries
• AE86: two-tones
Choosing a model and one of these colours on a product page is a standard order, not a custom build.
Road two: a custom build
On our Custom Build page you choose from the paint shop and pick your interior, stitching, wheels and name badge. You can even pick "Your own color": send us a factory paint code, a photo of your full-size car, or just describe the shade in your head. We match it and confirm it with you before we paint.
Custom builds take 2 to 4 weeks. Every go kart can be returned within 30 days of delivery if unused and not driven. The restocking fee is up to 15% on standard orders and up to 25% on custom builds.
Meet the paint shop: eleven factory paints
• Carrera Redline: the classic red. Loud outdoors, stunning in photos.
• Obsidian Blackline: deep black. Showroom magic, but it shows dust first.
• Arctic Silver Classic: the practical hero. Hides dust and light marks best.
• Midnight Riviera Blue: near-black indoors, glorious blue in the sun.
• Bayside British Racing Green: traditional, timeless racing green.
• Rosenblush Pink: a soft pink that turns heads on a classic shape.
• Slate Gray & Pearl White two-tone: modern, and great with contrast interiors.
• Emerald British Racing Green: a brighter, jewel-toned green.
• Pearl White with Black & White Houndstooth Interior: a period-perfect set.
• Monaco Gold Edition: the showpiece. Subtle? Never heard of it.
• Amethyst Night: deep purple with after-dark attitude.
And then there's swatch number twelve, "Your own color", for anything that isn't on the list.
Will it live indoors or outdoors?
Mostly displayed indoors? Darker paints like Obsidian Blackline and Midnight Riviera Blue show reflections beautifully under showroom lighting. If your kart doubles as games-room art, go dark and glossy.
Mostly driven outdoors? Arctic Silver Classic is the easiest to live with, because it hides dust and light scratches best. The greens are forgiving too. Black looks incredible, but it needs the most love.
Mostly photographed? Reds, golds and liveries pop on camera, especially at golden hour.
Interior, stitching and wheels: the finishing moves
• Interior: black leatherette, black and white houndstooth, tan leatherette or Carrera red leatherette

• Wheels: five-spoke black and silver, phone-dial silver, five-spoke polished or five-spoke gold

Sign your masterpiece
Every custom build can wear a plate or name badge of up to 10 letters or numbers. A name, initials, a birth year or an in-joke only your family understands are all welcome.
How a custom paint order works
1. Send your spec: paint (or "Your own color"), interior, stitching, wheels and badge.
2. Approve the quote: we confirm every option and the final price by email. Nothing starts until you say yes.
3. We build it in 2 to 4 weeks, with progress photos so you can show off early.
4. It ships crated, with free standard shipping across the US.
